Benjamin Hakoun, Founder

Benjamin co-founded FittingBox in 2006, with the ambition of making FittingBox the world leader in virtual try-on solutions for the eyewear industry. He is responsible for developing the company’s new products and activities which are to become tomorrow’s growth areas.
Prior to FittingBox, Benjamin worked at L’Oréal within the Interactive Marketing Department, where he was responsible for overseeing the creation of global websites, implementing innovative diagnostic tools and working on next-generation morphing softwares. He has developed extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of the web and of associated business models.
Benjamin holds a MS in Marketing from HEC Paris. He also serves as key speaker to company creations at the IEP Paris and at the Petit Poucet competition.

 

 

Ariel Choukroun, Founder and Director of R&D

Ariel co-founded FittingBox with Benjamin in 2006. He is Research and Development director, and has been responsible for leading the development of new technologies since FittingBox’s early days.
Ariel holds a PHD in Computer Science, Augmented Reality (Leopold Escande Prize) and graduated from INSA Toulouse in 2000.  He was introduced to Computer Vision science at the CROMEP Laboratory of the Ecole des Mines d’Albi-Carmaux. He has been studying and teaching image understanding at INP-ENSEEIHT and at the IRIT Laboratory for 4 years. Ariel’s objective is to make FittingBox Research a highly- skilled laboratory in computer vision science and augmented reality technologies dedicated to the eyewear industry.

 

 

Nicolas Medioni, CEO

Nicolas, CEO of FittingBox, has extensive experience in managing and developing new businesses. After having acquired a strong corporate background during 7 years in Sales and Marketing at IBM then Microsoft, where he launched a new business activity with Independent Software Vendors, Nicolas moved to Venture Capital in 2000 at Atlas Venture, a private equity fund specialized in financing Software and Internet early stage ventures. After starting up new companies he decided to run his own business through a management Buyout of Exlinea, an internet service company in the automotive distribution industry. He successfully developed and sold Exlinea, prior to joining FittingBox in 2009.


Nicolas Medioni is 41, holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from SUPELEC (Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité) and an MBA from INSEAD Business school. He is married and has three children.
